Get caught up.
Dutch chip-equipment maker ASML reported first-quarter orders that were almost a billion euros less than expected and warned it doesn’t know how to quantify the impact of recent tariff announcements that are threatening to upend the semiconductor industry.
The news, combined with yesterday’s announcement that the US was barring Nvidia from selling its H20 chip in China, sent global technology stocks tumbling. The selloff in semiconductor stocks over the past three months has already wiped out about $2 trillion in market capitalization.
