Trump Ends Kamala Harris’ Extended Secret Service Protection
President Donald Trump ended former Vice President Kamala Harris’ Secret Service protection, a senior White House official said, in a move aimed at his Democratic opponent in the 2024 election.
Trump signed a memorandum on Thursday ordering the termination of Harris’ detail starting Monday, according to another person familiar with the matter. Typically, protection for a former vice president lasts six months after leaving office, but President Joe Biden extended Harris’ detail through July 2026, the person said. Trump’s directive reverses that extension.
