Hong Kong Judges to Decide Jimmy Lai’s Fate as Key Trial Wraps

After more than 150 days in court, Hong Kong’s most closely watched national security trial has come to an end.

Lawyers for Jimmy Lai, the 77-year-old ex-media mogul and democracy advocate, gave their final statements in a packed courtroom in West Kowloon on Thursday morning. Now, three judges must decide whether his activism stayed within the parameters of free speech or crossed into a criminal conspiracy to collude with foreign forces.
