Inotiv’s Business Operations Disrupted by Cybersecurity Incident

Inotiv Inc. said a cybersecurity incident earlier this month has disrupted certain business operations at the company.

The West Lafayette, Indiana-based company, a contract research organization for drug discovery and development, said it became aware of the incident on Aug. 8. A preliminary investigation determined that a hacker had gained unauthorized access and encrypted some company systems, the company said in a regulatory filing. Inotiv took steps to contain the incident, including engaging outside cybersecurity experts and restricting access to certain of its systems.
