India’s Credit Rating Upgraded Days After Trump’s Tariffs
India secured a higher investment grade rating from S&P Global Ratings, which said the economy’s growth prospects won’t be derailed by President Donald Trump administration’s 50% tariff shock to the country.
S&P upgraded the country’s rating to BBB, from BBB- with a stable outlook, according to a statement on Thursday. This places India in the same rating category as countries like Mexico, Indonesia and Greece. The ratings reflect India’s stronger economic fundamentals, S&P said.
