Albemarle Lithium Plant Is Operating After Incident in Chile

Albemarle Corp. experienced an incident at its lithium-processing plant in Chile last week, which is the subject of an investigation, the latest threat to global supply of the battery metal.

There were no injuries at the La Negra plant near the city of Antofagasta, which “is currently operational,” the Charlotte, North Carolina-based firm said Tuesday in emailed response to questions.
