Top aides for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Russia on scheduled visits in the coming days, shortly after US President Donald Trump ramped up tariff threats over New Delhi’s close ties with Moscow, according to officials familiar with the matter.

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will visit Russia this week, with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to follow later this month, the Indian officials said, asking not to be identified as the discussions are still private.
