EchoStar Urged by US to Sell Spectrum to Settle Squatting Claim

Brendan Carr, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, wants the company to seek a sale of licenses in the so-called AWS-4 band, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Carr has presented his “best and final” offer to co-founder and Chairman Charlie Ergen, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing the private communications between the parties.
