Freeport Projects $1.7 Billion Sales Bump From US Copper Premium

Photographer: Rebecca Noble/BloombergFreeport-McMoRan Inc. expects to bring in an additional $1.7 billion in US copper sales per year thanks to a premium that’s showing up for domestic prices of the metal as President Donald Trump has been threatening tariffs on US imports.
The Arizona-based mining company said Wednesday the projections are based on US copper prices that were more than 30% above those on the London Metal Exchange as of Wednesday.
