Turkey Inflation Slows More Than Forecast, Backing Rate Cut Bets
Turkey’s annual inflation slowed more than forecast in June, bolstering expectations that the central bank may resume interest-rate cuts as soon as this month.
Consumer prices rose 35.1% last month in annual terms, compared to 35.4% in May, data from state statistics office TurkStat showed. Economists had expected inflation to ease marginally to 35.3%, according to the median forecast in a Bloomberg survey.
