ECB’s Stournaras Sees Interest-Rate Cut in June and Then a Pause

The European Central Bank may leave borrowing costs unchanged for the time being after a likely quarter-point reduction next month, according to Governing Council member Yannis Stournaras.

“I believe we will cut interest rates one more time in June and then I see a pause,” Stournaras told Greece’s Kathimerini newspaper in remarks published Friday. The ECB will continue to follow a meeting-by-meeting and data-driven approach, he said.
