Erdogan Says He’s Hopeful That US Will Relax Defense Sanctions

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is looking for Washington to ease defense sanctions on his country as ties warm up between the NATO allies under the new US administration.

“We can comfortably say that there is a softening in CAATSA,” Erdogan told reporters on the flight back to Turkey from Albania, where he attended the European Political Community summit in Tirana on Friday.
