Premier League Sponsors Exit UK After Gaming Watchdog Probe

Six betting websites that sponsor UK Premier League football clubs have ceased their UK operations after an investigation by the country’s gambling regulator into their licensing partner.

All of the sites operated in the UK under a license held by Isle of Man-based TGP Europe Ltd., which left the British market after the Gambling Commission ordered it to pay a £3.3 million ($4.4 million) penalty for anti-money laundering and due diligence failures, the regulator said in a statement Friday.
