UK Banknote Printer Weighs Bids for Entire Firm; Shares Jump
- De La Rue says it received bids from unnamed parties
- Disruptive Capital, Pension SuperFund had an existing bid
Shares of De La Rue Plc rallied to a nearly three-year high in London trading after the banknote printer said it was considering selling the whole company following preliminary approaches from unnamed buyers.
The London-listed company’s board will entertain bids for the entire firm, according to a statement Tuesday. Talks with Disruptive Capital GP Ltd. and Pension SuperFund Capital, which made a conditional cash offer of £1.25 a share for the firm in January, are ongoing and the investor group will also participate in the sale process.
