Pentagon Says 2,000 US Troops Are in Syria, Not 900 It’s Cited

The Pentagon’s top spokesman said that 2,000 US troops are in Syria, not the 900 he and other American officials have long cited.

Air Force Major General Pat Ryder said he learned only Thursday that there were far more than 900 American troops in the country and wanted to correct the record.
