Magnitude 7.0 Quake Hits Peru With Tsunami Waves Possible

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the area near the coast of central Peru around 12:36 am local time, according to the United States Geological Survey.
There were at least three quakes that hit over a period of 10 minutes and they were felt in Lima. The government has so far not reported any injuries or deaths.
