Captain Tom Moore, the centenarian war veteran who became a U.K. lockdown icon after an epic sponsored walk to raise money for the National Health Service, has died at the age of 100.
Moore’s family announced his death with a post on his Twitter account. He had recently tested positive for Covid-19, drawing messages of support from Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other prominent figures.
